Lake Hogan Farms Neighborhood Tour
The Lake Hogan Farms neighborhood was built on the site of the historic Hogan family farm during the 1990s into the early 2000s. Designed to incorporate beautiful green spaces and a small lake, residents enjoy a biking and walking trail that meanders beneath huge ancient oaks as it makes its way through the neighborhood.
Families can connect at the neighborhood Swim & Tennis Club, as well as several playgrounds.
Homes range in size from executive style homes of up to 6500 square feet on half acre lots next to the lake, to smaller patio style homes averaging 1800 square feet on small lots and 2000 square foot town homes. That diversity in houses allows for a diverse mix of residents and a vibrant community.
Although less than ten minutes from downtown Chapel Hill and the University of North Carolina, Lake Hogan Farms retains its rural feel. Some of the streets are laid out on the hillsides of the old farm, with lots of mature trees providing shade for the homes.
Other sections of the neighborhood are located on the open fields where crops were once grown, with expansive views of the sky and open space.
At the center of the neighborhood is the small lake, adjacent to the tennis courts and club. The original grain silo from the old farm days remains standing, looking over a lush green field that was once farmland. I-40 is less than fifteen minutes away, putting a commute to Research Triangle Park or Duke within easy reach.
